型態
在第二類條件句中，現在條件式也會用到進行式。

作用
這種型態在第二類條件句是很常見的，它表達的是一個未完成或進行中的動作或情況，是非真實情況可能會有的結果。
舉例
- I would be working in Italy if I spoke Italian.（但我不會說義大利語，所以我沒有在義大利工作）
- She wouldn't be living with Jack if she lived with her parents.（但她和 Jack 同居，而不是跟父母同居）
- You wouldn't be smiling if you knew the truth.（但你之所以還在笑，是因為你不知道事情的真相）
現在進行條件式
任何動詞的現在進行條件式都是由三個要素組成：
would + be + 現在分詞
現在分詞的構造是取動詞原形，接著在字尾加上 ing。
